Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Critical Parts Team member at IBM, get ready to tackle numerous critical component supply shortfall issues which have a direct impact on the success of our IBM clients. When our contract manufacturers raise the flag that they have exhausted all of their efforts to close the critical component shortages, this is where our team steps in to take on the challenge to drive efforts to provide a solution which may include the ability to improve the supply commits through executive escalation, to source through another qualified component manufacturer, use an alternate technical equivalent, secure CM to CM supply rebalancing, and/or to provide an indirect supply option via the distribution channels. You will actively use the IBM Critical Parts Management Tool and the IBM Cognitive Supply Chain Advisor 360 (CSCA360), among other tools. You will use a mix of project management, analytical, spreadsheet, and communications skills, along with supply assurance, logistics, and supply management knowledge and expertise to effectively maintain supply assurance continuity in a changing external environment to achieve business results and client success.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in component supply assurance with proficiency in supply/demand analysis, supply management, supply logistics, inventory management, demand planning.
  • Experience with the IBM Component Integrated Database (CID) and the IBM Critical Parts Management Tool (CPMT)
  • Familiarity with the IBM Product Deviation Tool and Database (PDV), IBM Printed Circuit Board Fair Market Value Tool and Database (FMV), IBM’s Cognitive Supply Chain 360 Advisor, and IBM’s i2 eXplore or PIM Search/Enovia data bases.
  • Good communications skills, both oral and written.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Familiarity with electronic components, component manufacturing, contract manufacturing, global supply logistics.
  • In-depth experience and knowledge in the use of the IBM Critical Parts Management Tool and the IBM PDV tools.
  • Experienced in contributing to a team-oriented environment and proven success in crisis management.

For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
