Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is Hiring a Program Manager II Near New York, NY

Description

The Program Manager II supports the institute and institute leadership and manages the activities and functions of a large or complex program or multiple programs to ensure that goals and objectives specified for the institute are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications. The research institute provides a carries out specific activities as a separate entity.

Responsibilities

  1. Provides administrative, operational and programmatic oversight of WBRI working directly with the Institute Director
  2. Oversees and manages the activities of subordinates and consultants and provides leadership and direction for staff, if applicable, setting an effective agenda to ensure that performance goals are met.
  3. Develops and independently implements new or revised program goals, strategies and objectives to sustain and grow programs and services.
  4. Supports department leadership, organizes conferences, seminars, location moves, educational initiatives and other projects, and is responsible for the creation and monitoring of timelines and other specifications.
  5. Prepares proposals for corporate and foundation funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors/donors.
  6. Represents the Program to the public, key stakeholders and other interested parties.
  7. Confers with and advises staff and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, answers to questions and program goals and policy interpretations; refers to appropriate department or person when unable to respond.
  8. Prepares periodic reports, financial statements and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies/funders.
  9. Evaluates program effectiveness to develop and implement improved methods; devises evaluation methodology and implements; analyzes results and takes proper action based on outcome.
  10. Manage project teams and collaborations with third parties and partners. Develop project milestones and deliverables; prepare reports that summarize key progress and issues on projects across the department and the institute.
  11. Organize project plans, develop and coordinate necessary administrative and regulatory paperwork, liaise with subcontractors and other partners
  12. Provides assistance to the Principal Investigator or Research Manager on grant and philanthropic applications including creating, editing and updating common grant documents and drafting NIH progress reports
  13. Provides support in all activities related to pre- and post-award grants management such as collecting and preparing documents for new grant proposal and non-competitive renewals and coordinating Other Support pages; maintain updated CV per research areas
  14. Drafts and edits scientific content for grants, manuscripts and presentations
  15. Perform other related work as required, which may include but not be limited to:
  16. Organize special events (e.g seminar series, symposia) and create agendas for speakers
  17. Assist with annual progress reports
  18. Support director and managers with ad hoc projects or tasks
  19. Responsible for the Institute's communications such as newsletters, website, social media, science writing, etc.
  20. Ensure that team meetings have structure and a clear purpose and goals; facilitate meetings effectively and clearly communicate decisions and action items to team members and relevant parties outside of the team. Monitor team dynamics regularly to ensure optimal team performance.
  21. Develops and writes communications and promotional literature for distribution such as newsletters, brochures or flyers; coordinates process from development through printing and distribution.
  22. Develops and facilitates workshops, meetings or conferences with high impact on program and/or participants; coordinates logistics, scheduling and participant communications.
  23. Performs other related duties

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or greater Preferred, Bachelor's degree required or combination of applicable experience and education
  • 5 years of experience

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58661 - $131127.18 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need.
