Job Description

Icon Structures, located in the Wichita, Manhattan and Eudora, is a growing general contractor for commercial construction providing pre-construction services, construction management, design build work and general contracting.

We are seeking a qualified Project Manager/Company Leaders to join our team in the Wichita, Manhattan, and Kansas City (Eudora office) locations. We staff our projects correctly, our superintendents know how to build, and our leadership will allow you to truly be part of the organization (Your efforts will directly impact our success). Our Project Managers/Estimators are involved in a range of construction services including bidding, negotiating, and estimating construction projects including pre-construction planning, scheduling, project cost accounting, quality control, contract administration, safety management, labor and equipment resources and owner and architect relationships. Project Managers will oversee the construction project from start to finish.

Job Responsibilities Including but Not Limited to

  • Leadership and accountability
  • Training and development of our Project Engineers
  • Business Development – Every Icon team member is a reflection on Icon Structures
  • Job Cost Management and tracking of individual projects
  • Preparation of and maintaining project schedules
  • Creating and processing all change events, subcontract change orders, owner change orders, and prime contract change orders
  • Preparation of and maintaining accurate budgets and updates
  • Standard Subcontract Agreements & Purchase Order Agreements via Procore Project Management software
  • Creating and building scopes of work per specified divisions for each project
  • Monitoring and reporting construction progress updates
  • Conducting weekly OAC and subcontractor meetings
  • Building and maintaining healthy relationships with Owners, Architects, and Subcontractors
  • Ensuring safe and functional jobsite at all times

Desired Skills and Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, construction science or construction engineering is strongly encouraged as well as the equivalent of 3 years of experience. If you are a fast paced, self-starter who is detail oriented and organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills and are highly motivated with a passion for construction, please apply now. Experience with Microsoft (Excel and Word) and Sage Estimating, and Procore Project Management software are helpful but not required.

We are looking for a Project Manager with the following skills and experience:

  • Detailed and accurate estimating of competitive bid, negotiated, design-build and CM at Risk commercial construction projects
  • Ability to complete accurate schedules, submittals, change orders to variance and pay requests, on time, on budget record of tracking variances and cost projections, estimating, knowledge of project scheduling, subcontract and PO management, construction oversight with superintendent.
  • Successful candidate must have thorough knowledge of legal issues and safety standards and a capacity to handle pressure.

  • Excellent Leadership skills
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to negotiate and effectively communicate with subcontractors and suppliers
