Icons America is Hiring a Procurement Specialist Near Dallas, NC

Main Role:

The Procurement Specialist will prepare, review, negotiate, and administer contracts and purchase of manufacturing raw materials.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Reviews cost proposals and pricing information.
  • Purchases goods and services according to the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates with managers to maintain inventory levels.
  • Prepares and administers contracts and purchase orders with specific vendors.
  • Compares bids from vendors and determines, or assists with determination, to whom contracts will be awarded.
  • Ensures purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
  • Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
  • Evaluates vendor proposals to ensure that all requirements are met.
  • Confirms that terms and delivery dates are accurate.
  • Evaluate the competence of vendors and review their invoices for accuracy.
  • Maintains database regarding vendors’ performance and quality of product(s).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, skills, and experience required:

  • Extensive knowledge of contract principles and procedures.
  • Experience purchasing resins, labels, and components for a plastics manufacturing company.
  • Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is highly preferred.
  • At least two years of purchasing experience is required.
  • Proficient ERP experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience

Physical requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
