The Refill Production Lead is responsible for maintaining the organization and flow of the refill prep yard, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of tanks for production demands, and overseeing stock levels of necessary components. This role is crucial for ensuring on-time deliveries and upholding safety and organizational standards in the refill yard.
In this role you will be responsible for the following:
  • Tank Preparation and Workflow:
    • Ensure continuous feeding of tanks to the refill prep stations according to production requirements, avoiding workflow interruptions.
    • Prioritize last-minute tank preparation requests to ensure on-time, in-full deliveries for our customers.
  • Yard Organization:
    • Keep the refill prep yard clean and well-organized, categorizing tanks by product family and size for easy access and identification.
    • Efficiently sort and categorize all pallets and tanks, utilizing all available resources (refill prep team) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Training and Procedures:
    • Be trained or willing to undergo training in the preparation procedures for all types of tanks.
  • Stock Management:
    • Maintain and monitor stock levels of refill prep components, including valves, fittings, dip tubes, etc.
    • Initiate purchase orders or requisitions as needed.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting:
    • Record and report daily refill prep production numbers to the supervisor for accurate record-keeping and performance monitoring.
    • Monitor stock levels of finished goods in the refill department and align refill prep activities to match desired stock levels or replenish as needed.
  • Receiving and Scanning:
    • Ensure that receiving lanes are consistently cleared and ready for the return of empty cylinders.
    • Ensure all tanks are scanned into the RFID database and properly stored in their respective yard locations.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety guidelines and standards, ensuring the refill yard operates without incidents.
  • Training and Development:
    • Participate in regular training and refresher courses as mandated by the company or regulatory bodies.
  • Interdepartmental Communication:
    • Communicate with other departments, especially production, to ensure smooth coordination and timely delivery of tanks.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Provide feedback and suggest improvements to optimize refill prep operations and improve efficiency.
  • Miscellaneous Duties:
    • Assist with any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
  • Experience in a production or yard management role preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Willingness to undergo training and certification as needed.

Working Conditions
  • This position requires physical activity, including lifting and moving heavy tanks and components.
  • Work is primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
