Position Purpose: The Manager of Water Quality's primary purpose in the business is to organize and coordinate water quality compliance efforts in accordance with the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and related state and/or federal regulations for Veolia Water Idaho operations. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Manages water quality monitoring and sampling schedules. Administrates digital water quality systems and related results, reports, or records. Coordinates with Operations department for on-schedule field execution of sampling and related tasks. Partners with Operations, Communications, Engineering, Customer Service, and GIS/Operational Technology departments to ensure Business Unit SDWA regulations are met. Develops and shares recommended management strategies for water quality challenges, emerging or unregulated contaminants and/or regulatory trends. Reviews water quality information and results with Communications for Consumer Confidence Reports (CCR), and other public communications related to water quality regulations. Assists Operations department with the development of standard operating procedures, plans, and programs related to water quality. Engages in business communication with the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality concerning SDWA compliance, in coordination with related internal departments and managers. Owns and executes on SDWA related items in the Business Unit's Onsite-Compliance Document. Interfaces with corporate Water Quality Compliance teams for local awareness and representation. Qualifications Education/Experience/Background: BA in chemistry, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field. 3 years of relevant supervisory or management experience. Previous experience using digital tools in a regulatory reporting environment. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: In-depth knowledge of state and federal drinking water regulations. Knowledge of water sampling procedures and treatment processes. Excellent leadership, organization, and communication abilities. Competent in Google Suite applications, and other digital systems. Required Certification/Licenses/Training: Idaho Drinking Water Distribution and/or Treatment Operator- Class II or higher preferred. Physical Requirements: Physical: Ability to travel when required. Ability to sit for extended time periods. Sensory: Must be able to see clearly and hear. Must be able to speak to give direction and converse with others. Mental: Must be able to read complex operations reports, write detailed reports and prepare and deliver presentations. Ability to analyze complex operational and technical challenges and resolve the same. Ability to interpret and explain complex regulatory requirements. Must be able to reason, problem solve and analyze complex operational challenges and resolve the same. Must be able to learn new technological advances in water industry and train personnel. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
