Sr. Software Development Manager at Oracle in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Job Description As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering for Open Platform Engineering, you will join a platform team that is responsible for advancing the open API products based on industry definitions by HL7 (Health Level 7 International). The APIs are built utilizing standards like Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) and Substitutable Medical Applications Reusable Technology (SMART) standards which enable system integrations with the Oracle Cerner Millennium database or web-based applications to be integrated with and launched from within Oracle Cerner's electronic medical record applications. These capabilities are deployed across multiple cloud regions today and must support commercial and regulatory requirements unique to each region. The ideal candidate will have strong technical, development and people management skills. In this role you will mentor, coach and lead team members to help them achieve their goals alongside effective project and resource planning. In the management of software engineers, your responsibilities will also include promoting and building a diverse cohesive team to accomplish our business objectives while aligning your associates' skills to fill gaps. In the day-to-day of the role, you will also collaborate with product teams to manage backlog and delegation of work, setting clear expectations on the outcomes and following up to ensure progress is maintained and roadblocks are overcome. Responsibilities Basic Qualifications: BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience. At least 10 years of software engineering work experience. Experience with one or more preferred programming languages, but not limited to: Java, C#, C , Ruby. Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to multiple stakeholders and audience types. Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc) Experience with project management tools (Jira, Jira Align, Version One) Experience with people management, project management or other indirect leadership work experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with building, deploying and maintaining web services implementing RESTful APIs that scale efficiently and securely.
