Renewables Senior Electrical Designer at Power Engineers in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Renewables Senior Electrical Designer Location: Rocky Mountain State/Territory: Department: Power Delivery Renewables III Dept Description Renewables Senior Electrical Designer POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer for our Renewables Business Unit. This position will report to an existing POWER office with the ability to work remotely from a mutually agreed upon location. The successful candidate will perform aspects of conventional electrical design and analysis in the power delivery renewables market. The successful applicant will collaborate with engineers and designers on multi-discipline projects and interface with clients in the renewables market. Completion of these functions requires technical competence in primary production roles and leadership competence in working with renewables clients and mentoring/supervising team members assigned to renewable design projects. Candidates will apply advanced electrical design techniques to prepare electrical deliverables. This designer will be expected to work closely with the RBU lead engineers, staff engineers, and project engineers, and also dealing directly with clients. Excellent written and oral communications skills are required to be successful in this position. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to: Recognizes design errors and alters those errors accordingly. Recognizes information on layouts, etc. by utilizing design specific reference material (i.e. design criteria and vendor catalogs). Recognizes what needs to be accomplished and communicates effectively to others. Delegates and monitors work while mentoring other designers and drafters. Translates codes, regulations, specs, etc. in reference to designs. Uses own judgment when creating engineering, architectural and/or communication designs. Recognizes the technical needs of a design/project and act on those needs. Promotes and educates other designers and drafters on POWER's standard drafting manual. Educates other designers and drafters on codes, regulations, specs, etc. Quality check designs. Manages and trains other designers and drafters. Analyzes application software results with client needs/desires in mind. Client contact/interaction. Trains on how to manage and coordinate entire design projects on CADD. Defines which software to use for design projects (proposal phase).
