IDEA Public Schools is Hiring a CNP Nutrition Administrator - (Immediate Opening) Near Fort Worth, TX

Description
Role Mission: The CNP Nutrition Administrator is a key supporter of CNP Nutrition leadership and assists in the development of data and information processes that drive quality, variety, and compliance of IDEA's 9 menu lines districtwide . The Nutrition Administrator serves as an integral member of the Child Nutrition Program (CNP) and Nutrition Team by assisting the CNP Nutrition Evaluator in the development and analysis of districtwide school menus and data spreadsheets that maximize nutritional content and cost effectiveness of meals, meal participation, consumption and waste, and compliance with state agencies to ensure that IDEA continues to be the healthiest school district in the nation. This person is a technically savvy individual with a clear understanding of CNP's nutritional and data goals across all 9 menu lines across 4 states. They will be responsible for conducting sophisticated consumption & waste studies and support the creation of data reporting, analytics, and visualization practices to drive menu decisions districtwide. Further, t his role also engages in project management of ancillary CNP Nutrition team priorities & initiatives (Healthy Kids Here, Nutrition Educatio n and Community Engagement opportunities, the CNP social media presence, and Nutrition Team priorities and initiatives), ensuring we continue to meet standards by federal, state, and local board policy. They are responsible for understanding department systems, business processes, reporting and analytics needs to accomplish goals and to assist in the development and execution of the data collection and reporting strategies to maximize nutritional content, participation efforts, and interorganizational collaboration across IDEA's 90 campuses .
Location:
The Nutrition Administrator must currently live in or be willing to relocate to Texas, with preference for one of our regions in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin, Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, or Tarrant County.

Compensation:
  • Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $61,605 and $ 71,154 , commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on organizational performance and goal attainment.

In this role, you will:
  • Execute evaluative data-focused initiatives such as but not limited to 1) collecting & analyzing stakeholder feedback, and 2) collecting and analyzing consumption and waste data.
  • Lead maintenance and innovation efforts of IDEA CNP Nutrition data reporting tools (survey reporting tool/tracker, consumption and waste data logs) to support effective database management and transparency for key stakeholders .
  • Support in the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data collected resulting in evaluative reports that assist Nutrition Team in making informed & strategic improvements to menus.
  • Directly manage CNP Nutrition team priorities & initiatives such as but not limited to 1) Healthy Kids Here; 2) Nutrition Education and Community Engagement Opportunities; 3) the CNP Social Media Program Marketing presence; and /or 4) ancillary logistics for CNP Nutrition.
  • Assist nutrition team leadership in designing, executing, and implementing IDEA's internal nutritional standards with a focus on improvements beyond national, state, and local guidelines.
  • Support & the promote child nutrition program at campus, regional, district, and national level by participating in various seasonal tasks that include, but are not limited to, 1) executing at least 3 campus visits per semester; 2) assisting with nutrition-related internal audits; 3 ) attending food shows, and/or 4 ) presenting on data initiatives on internal and external stages (i.e., national conferences, team meetings/step-backs/summits).
Required Experience and Certifications :
  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition , culinary, public health, public policy, data analytics , statistics, or related field. Graduate degree or other advanced degree in relevant field preferred .
  • Certified Food Service Sanitation preferred.
  • Certified Food Service Manager preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software .
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel preferred .
  • Experience working with large data sets and statistical software platforms ( SAS, R , or similar) preferred .
  • Previous experience with project management preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of school nutrition or food service experience preferred .
  • At least one year's experience in a supervisory role preferred.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software and menu planning application s preferred.
  • Working knowledge of local, state, and national policy for school meal programs (i.e., National Breakfast Program, National School Lunch Program, and Child and Adult Care Food Program, and the Community Eligibility Provision, preferred.
  • Ability to implement policy and procedures and analyze and interpret data .
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and report stakeholder data and/or departmental information.
  • P lanning, organization, and follow - up skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects sensitive to deadlines and changing environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation experience.
  • Innovative problem solver with the ability to influence and create partnerships .
  • History of innovation and initiative .
  • Ab ility to travel up to 20 % of the time during the busiest parts of the year .
Team Goals :
In this role , you will be responsible for supporting the team to reach the following ambitious goals:
  • Most current menu, recipes, and resources available 2 weeks prior to FDOS.
  • Participate in 2 internal nutrition education events by LDOS contributing to 20 HKH checklist items completed district wide.
  • Execute 3 campus visits per semester to promote nutrition initiatives by LDOS.
  • Ensure 90% of campuses meet their HKH survey goal by June 30th.
  • Collect consumption & waste data from at least 50% of campuses by June 30th.
