POSITION SUMMARY

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Leader, has responsibility for driving a CI culture and mindset across Airtech sites. This is a hands on role that will train, coach and directly apply lean tools and principles to all departments to achieve improvements in cost reduction, production flow, quality, and customer satisfaction. The role will partner with leaders to identify, plan and communicate initiatives, functional area dashboards, and assist teams with data mining and analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a change agent for leading continuous improvement; including development and delivery of training materials and programs.

  • Lead kaizen and lean workshops to site leaders and associates, including VSM, daily management, standard work, 3P/layout, cell design, material flow, TPM, SMED, 5S and visual management.

  • Identify and develop a project funnel of business opportunities for improvement; develop and drive related action plans with measurable outcomes. Facilitate strategy deployment and goal deployment across site functions and multiple value streams, and maintain a site-wide lean roadmap aimed at meeting site our goals, including productivity, quality, delivery and customer allegiance

  • Lead site CI steering committee

  • Celebrate the successes of major CI accomplishments. (Kaizens, lean, 5S, etc).

  • Identify internal and external best practices and share across Airtech/IDEX sites.

  • Develop a healthy group of qualified lean tool experts.

  • Lead sustainability activities as group ESG team lead in relation to reporting and interaction with the corporate team.

  • Champion and report on site productivity savings to meet AOP goals.

  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Formal CI training and certification; Minimum of 5 years of hands-on lean kaizen, including VSM, daily management, standard work, cell design, material flow, TPM, SMED, 3P/layout, 5S and visual management

  • Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience in a machining/assembly environment

  • Lean experience from a company with a formal lean business system

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to persuade, influence, and train decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams.

  • Ability to solve practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Proven track record leading and coaching week-long kaizen teams with an emphasis on execution.

  • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience in the areas of Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, Lean principals, statistics, and data analysis.

  • Working knowledge of multiple operations, including operations, quality, logistics, finance, sales, customer service, engineering, IT and human resources

  • Experience training a formal problem-solving methodology.

  • Ability to lead change with a hands-on approach

  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize workload, and respond to changing business demands

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
