Thought leadership, detailed understanding of customer requirements and ability to drive execution will all be key elements in defining the next phase of growth and success for iDirect Government. The VP of Sales and Strategy role requires embracing change while also maintaining the current success.

This VP role is based out of Herndon, VA, with the option of a hybrid work schedule and will report directly to the President and be a member of the Executive Management team. The expectation will be to be in the office 3-5 days a week over the initial 6 month period. Then to be re-addressed.

Responsibilities:
  • The VP of Strategy and Sales is responsible for all sales of satellite communications solutions throughout the United States Government arena and for all aspects of leading an integrated business development and sales account team.
  • Responsible for growing iDirect Government both horizontally and vertically. The VP will be updating the go-to-market strategy and executing change with purpose by modernizing the sales culture with more action to hunt new ground and fit iDirect Government's growing technology into new customer segments.
  • Responsible for understanding both current and future needs of the customer and mapping those requirements into our next generation product and service offerings.
  • Manage and lead 8-10 direct reports and for leveraging established relationships to call on executive-level management from both new and existing customers. Business Development, program capture strategies and traditional sales will all be key activities for this team.
  • Lead the continued success with the current customer set coupled with hunting new ground and near-term success with new customers. New target customers include Big Navy, USAF, and Space Force (outside of SOF).
  • Lead all program capture efforts.
  • Update go-to-market strategy develop new product and service offerings that are complementary to our mature integrator customer sales channel and meet the needs of future customer requirements
  • Priorities to be accomplished in the first 6-months:
  • Understanding the current business challenges and the options to address them.
  • Development of go-to-market strategy for new customer set (Navy, USAF, Space Force, etc).
  • Development of complimentary BD capability with measurable goals and objectives.
  • Development of a structured program capture process.
  • Understand current and new customer requirements to provide course correction to the roadmap.
  • Revenue performance vs budget.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated leadership success having implemented change with purpose.
  • Demonstrated wins of program awards due to relationships within the following agencies: Special Forces Community and all Satellite Owner Operators (Inmarsat, Intelsat, SES, Eutelsat, etc) Desired: USAF, USN, Space Force.
  • 10 years of demonstrated senior-level sales leadership success managing a geographically distributed team.
  • 10 years of demonstrated sales leadership experience in the SatCom Sector or an adjacent sector.
  • US Citizen.

Clearance Requirement: Current TS DoD security clearance or ability to obtain TS DoD security clearance.

Travel: 35%
