IES Residential is Hiring a Payroll Manager Near Sugar, TX

General Job Description

Position Summary: The Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing IES Residential’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. This role requires expertise in multi-state payroll processing and a deep understanding of piece rate compensation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Manage and oversee the end-to-end payroll process for all employees across multiple states, ensuring timely and accurate payroll runs.
  • Piece Rate Compensation: Implement and manage piece rate payroll structures, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Compliance: Stay current with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Ensure payroll taxes are calculated and filed accurately.
  • Systems Management: Maintain and optimize the payroll system (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar). Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Reporting: Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits. Provide payroll-related information for audits and other financial reviews.
  • Employee Support: Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees. Provide guidance on payroll policies and procedures.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate payroll processes and systems, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor payroll staff, ensuring high performance and professional development.

Specific Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a management role, preferred. Experience with multi-state payroll processing and piece rate compensation is required.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Office/Excel.
    • Strong understanding of payroll and tax regulations.
    • Experience with Loki Advance Payroll and Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Experience with Certified Payroll is preferred.
  • Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is preferred.
