The Airframe Technician is expected to possess advanced knowledge and high-level skills in inspecting, testing, adjusting, repairing, and conducting general tasks related to the maintenance and repair of airframe systems and components on various airframes. The responsibilities also include ensuring a safe and clean work environment in compliance with manufacturer’s specifications, approved procedures, and customer requirements. Additionally, this position involves effective troubleshooting of complicated squawks, training lesser experienced technicians through on-the-job training, timely preparation and completion of appropriate documentation, and functioning as a Qualified Inspector (QI). Essential Job Functions:
Perform inspections, service, and repairs of the most complicated nature on aircraft systems and components on a variety of airframes with a focus on timeliness, cleanliness, safety, and professionalism, ensuring superior quality, craftsmanship, and efficiency with minimal rework
Efficiently and effectively troubleshoot, function test, and repair the most complicated aircraft systems across a variety of airframes
Prepare various documents for record-keeping purposes as required by Company policy and FAA regulations, demonstrating proficiency in the Aviation work order system, service plans, Tracker, and outside maintenance tracking programs
Share knowledge and capabilities with less experienced technicians through on-the-job training to foster their development and ensure accurate work
Locate and use appropriate technical data proficiently and consistently to accomplish tasks
Accept ownership of the work scope and established milestones in the absence of the lead technician, ensuring successful and timely project completion
Job Specific Requirements:
Licenses/Certificates: Airframe or Repairman’s Certificate required; Powerplant Certificate preferred; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; Respirator Fit qualified; Man Lift qualified; tool inventory by department tool list required; QI designation
Physical: Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.; reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates products, materials, and fumes associated with component maintenance; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet; tolerates walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and sitting
Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and in noisy environments
Education and Experience: - Airframe License Required; Powerplant License Preferred. - 5 years aircraft airframe maintenance experience required. - QI or IA experience preferred.
Previous Corporate Aviation or MRO experience is preferred
Experience leading aviation maintenance projects is preferred
High school graduate or equivalent required
