Location: San Jose, CA (on-site, 1x day remote)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 5 years in an ESG-related role; graduate degree and/or professional certifications are preferred.
  • Proven expertise in ESG reporting standards, requirements, and common frameworks (including SASB, TCFD, and GRI).
  • Experience with ESG rating and ranking agencies.
  • Proven ability to manage projects; strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Job Duties:

  • Facilitate and manage the annual ESG reporting process, including consultant management, content and data collection, editing, and reviews.
  • Improve data collection processes to enable disclosure alignment with appropriate standards and frameworks, such as SASB, TCFD, GRI, and emerging standards from the ISSB, TNFD, and other leading standard-setting organizations.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts across the organization to develop and implement ESG strategies, initiatives, objectives, key performance metrics, and reporting content; leverage existing programs and identify new opportunities to expand or improve.
  • Formulate reports and respond to questionnaires from ESG research firms and rating agencies, including MSCI, ISS, Sustainalytics, and CDP; identify opportunities to correct inaccuracies and improve performance.
  • Collaborate with the investor relations team to engage with shareholders and respond to queries relating to ESG matters.
  • Advocate for the company on ESG-related matters and communicate with internal and external stakeholders about the company’s ESG efforts.
  • Benchmark ESG performance and reporting against peers and industry best practice; recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor emerging ESG trends, regulation, and legislation that impact the company.
  • Facilitate successful execution of the company’s ESG governance framework and support the Board, ESG Executive Oversight Committee, and ESG Topic Owners to ensure accountability for and visibility of ESG topics.
  • Effectively manage the ESG team by planning and evaluating project tasks; leading mid-year and annual job performance reviews; and fostering a positive, safe, supportive work environment.
