Overview
CANDIDATE MUST LIVE IN OR NEAR AUSTIN, TX.
Responsibilities
  • Have a solid understanding of DB2 data dictionaries, database structure and layout, installing, Upgrading, and managing database applications.
  • Work Extensively on DDL/DML/DCL.
  • Ability to create, modify, test, implement and maintain database scripts (Shell Script, Perl, Python, etc.).
  • Ability to work with Customers and understand their requirements.
  • Ability to update, modify, reconfigure, backup and restore databases.
  • Understanding of disaster recovery and database backup procedures
  • Design the migration paths from older versions of DB2 to the latest releases.
  • Ensures accuracy and availability of data.
  • Establishes policies and procedures pertaining to database management, security, maintenance, and utilization.
  • Analyzes database performance statistics and performs required tuning activities to optimize database performance.
  • Recommends continuous improvement in database administration.
  • Shared on-call responsibilities in 24 x 7 operation.
  • Work Extensively on utilities such as Reorg, Runstats, Rebind, Import, Load
  • Tuning and optimizing the complex queries for better performance
  • Database Administrative include set up of DB2 databases environments for development, QA, APL and Production.
  • Knowledge of TSA & HADR with single & multiple standby servers.
  • Pacemaker (Linux with DB2) experience is a plus.
  • Ability to use of database analysis tools (DB2 visual studio, DB2PD, DB2TOP, DB2 Explain, etc.).
  • Ability to detect, analyze, troubleshoot, and escalate database incidents.
  • Ability to forecast, recommend, and implement database capacity planning.
  • DB2 LUW v 10.5 & v11.1 or above on Linux is a plus.
  • Developing database best practices related to performance, capacity, and archiving.
  • Maintains database documentation (database libraries, best practices and performance and capacity metrics).
  • Development of a maintenance strategy and maintenance scripts relating to backup and recoveries of databases.
  • Adheres to service level agreements by following established SLA performance requirements.
  • Adheres to IT best practices by following established IT best practice performance.
  • Must be able to support 24X7X365 operations as required to include holiday and weekend work as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10 years of work experience; 5 - 7 years of DB2 DBA LUW experience required
  • Experience with Postgres, MySQL and SQL Server 2000 is plus.

At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $38,281 - $156,700. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses . In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
