LA based media production company is seeking an Assistant Producer (Media Specialist)
- Employment Status. : Direct Hire with Non-Exempt (Overtime will be paid)
- Work Hour: : Monday – Friday, 11:00am - 19:00pm (with 1 hour lunch break)
- Language (MUST) : Native level of English and Conversational level of Japanese
POSITION SUMMARY
A media professional who supports the production of newscasts across all platforms. Perform US/Mexico (West Coast focus) news-gathering activities for broadcast in Japan, including news research and on-location producing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Job duties may include, but not be limited to:
- Monitor and remain up-to-date with daily news through local/national TV news stations, social media, news wires, newspapers, magazines, publication agencies (AP, Reuters, NYTimes), etc.
- Alert the LA Bureau Chief and/or Foreign News Desk in Tokyo of any breaking/interesting news for broadcast in Japan.
- Collect information, set up interviews, and coordinate travel arrangements for any potential news, projects, or breaking news.
- Go on location and perform troubleshooting, researching, translating, directing, coordinating, driving, editing, and footage transmission duties for the company and affiliates' news programs.
