About:

A top national law firm is seeking an Of Counsel or Junior Partner to join its established Litigation department in their Cleveland, Ohio office. A portable book of business is not required but would be a plus.

The firm is well established with 36 offices worldwide and a platform of over 1,000 attorneys. The team has experience working on matters in both national and international disputes. The group represents matters in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and consumer products industries in state and federal courts involving claims of personal injury, wrongful death, and consumer fraud. They have clientele including Fortune 50 companies, privately held companies, businesses with global operations, and businesses in heavily regulated industries.

Experience:

• Candidates must have over 10 years of experience in a relevant law firm setting.
• Experience with all aspects of commercial litigation, including drafting and responding to complaints, discovery, motion practice, trials, and appeals, and have strong research and writing skills.
• Experience handling high-stake litigation for sophisticated clients around the globe.
• Familiarity with working on matters at both a national and international level.
• Familiarity with managing electronic discovery, including managing document collections and vendors is a plus.
• Experience with depositions, motion practice, and handling oral arguments is a plus.
• Trial experience is beneficial.
• Excellent academic records, as well as superb skills in writing, communication, interpersonal, and analytical.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement winning litigation strategies through outstanding written and oral advocacy skills.
• Managing complex disputes, including running discovery.
• Drafting and preparing briefs, pleadings, motions, and other documents.
• Taking and defending depositions and related work with witnesses and experts.
• Working on all aspects of disputes from inception through trial and appeal.
• Supporting the team on business development and other litigation-related matters.
