The Property Claims Coordinator provides specific claims support to adjusters and management personnel within the Property Claims Unit and reports directly to the Property Claims Supervisor. The position encompasses both administrative and adjuster functions, as directed. This position serves as back-up for the Claims Assistant and Paralegal in times of absence.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Setting up new property claims in IDMS and forwarding to the Property Claims Supervisor for assignment.
  • Positioning new property claims for initial adjustment by completing various tasks including:
    • Searching policy/policies for prior claims and entering notes.
    • Searching loss location address in Policy Services for companion policy/policies.
    • Pulling last Loss Control Valuation document into claim file.
    • Pulling last Loss Control Inspection report into claim file.
    • Setting Adjuster and Supervisor Requirements.
    • Pulling TIN from UW file to claim file. If no TIN, reach out to insured and request.
    • Pulling email for insured to claim file from prior claims, UW Application, or insured contact.
  • Performing media-related searches on all property claims including:
    • ISO reports, weather searches, Google Map search of insured location, and online media searches for large property losses and/or CAT events.
  • Indexing and routing documents and mail from the Property Claims Mailbox.
  • Partnering with the Claims Assistant to manage the phone queue.
  • Issuing checks as requested by adjusters.
  • Managing consolidated payments to Symbility, Syndicate, and UPS.
  • Preparing Large Loss lists and agenda for Monthly Property Loss Meeting.
  • Assisting adjusters in keeping claims moving toward prompt resolution by providing various tracking and follow-up efforts on claims involving Independent Adjusters, Public Adjusters, Mitigation Contractors, and Restoration Contractors.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school education or equivalent experience and a minimum two years clerical experience with a high level of proficiency in alpha numeric data entry.
  • Intermediate level proficiency in word processing, spread sheeting, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prepare business correspondence and reports.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information.
  • Ability to respond to routine inquiries from employees, agents, policy holders, and vendors.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and resources to ensure timely completion of claims tracking and follow-up.
