Fitness Center employment Opportunities Include:

Fitness Center Attendant

• Help ensure the Fitness Center operates smoothly, efficiently, and effectively serving ICC students, faculty/staff and the community.
• Assist with monitoring the overall health, safety and security of the CougarPlex, its patrons, and equipment.
• Downstairs desk responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Operate the juice bar and cash register.
  • Sign up new members and collecting payments.
  • Greet and communicatie with members offering excellent customer service.
  • Handle towel and basketball rental.
  • Assist patrons who visit the CougarPlex.
  • Provide information as needed.
• Upstairs desk responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Monitor patrons as they exercise.
  • Clean equipment.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment through a completing a cleaning checklist.
  • Know how to operate and utilize all fitness center equipment and machines.
  • Give tours of the fitness center.
  • Assist the downstairs desk staff as needed.
• Perform related duties as required.

Group Fitness Leader

• Lead group fitness classes.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Keep up to date on group fitness trends such as Les Mills Body programs, Zumba and/or Yoga.
• Maintain First Aid and CPR/AED certifications.
• Maintain appropriate certifications or licensure.
• Perform related duties as required.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

• Must be enrolled in 6 credit hours at ICC during the semester of employment for fall or spring or enrolled in 3 credit hours for summer employment.
• Current First Aid and CPR/AED certifications or willing to complete certification within 2 weeks of employment.
• Possess excellent level of responsibility, reliability, punctuality and professionalism.
• Group fitness must possess proper certification or licensing within appropriate time period.
• Fitness Center Attendants may be required to obtain/maintain current food handler certification.
• Maintain academic standing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.
