ILLINOIS CENTRAL COLLEGE is Hiring a Student Employment- Performing Arts Center Near East Peoria, IL

Summary

The Arts and Behavioral Sciences - Performing Arts Center (PAC) Student Employees support the Arts and Behavioral Sciences Department by providing basic assistance and completing day to day tasks. Student Employees will be assigned to a specific job within the department. Student employees will work on a part time basis, often with flexible schedules to accommodate class needs.
Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours to be eligible for student employment opportunities during Fall and Spring semesters. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours to be eligible for student employment opportunities during Summer semesters.

Performing Arts Center (PAC) Student Employment Opportunities include:

Promotions & Social Media (PAC)

  • Assist in preparing/editing/proofreading materials for publication on Arts at ICC web site and social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) as well as items being sent to print.
  • Assist in managing ArtsAtICC social media pages such as posting, going FB live, sharing content, doing take overs etc.
  • Create social media calendars to keep content up to date.
  • Create events on social media for the events taking place in the PAC and LRH.
  • Assist with promotional campaigns for Guest Artist and Theatre events.
  • Work Guest Artist shows and other events for promotions opportunities such as give-a-ways, raffles, surveys, etc.
  • Take pictures of events at the PAC and LRH for social media and stock inventory.
  • Post and/or remove posters, audition flyers, and other materials to/from designated places.
  • Perform routine office duties (i.e., prepare and stuffing envelopes for mailing, filing, etc.) as directed.
  • Give occasional tours of performing arts facilities as needed.
  • Assist in the creation of PAC advertising campaigns.
  • Maintain inventory of needed supplies for hospitality functions.
  • Draft press releases for upcoming shows at the PAC.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Preforming Arts Center Student Tech Staff

  • Build and painting scenery for plays.
  • Perform live audio mixing for musicals and concerts.
  • Sew and maintain costumes for the stage, and costume shop inventory.
  • Create lighting for live entertainment productions.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Graphic Designer (Performing Arts Center)

  • Design visual communications for flyers, programs, brochures, digital ads, Facebook cover photos, etc. Background in design, preferably have experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator.
  • Collaborate with manager of the PAC to develop print, social and digital communications.
  • Learn design processes, branding procedures and assist in design campaigns.
  • Design visually arresting collateral material print products for various events at the ICC Performing Arts Center.
  • Assist in managing and updating Print/Product materials.
  • Upload and update photos, graphics and collaterals.
  • Create compelling messaging and graphic/visual designs.
  • Stay abreast of design trends, social mediums, etc.
  • Perform various production duties based on departmental needs.
  • Collaborate with PAC manager to discuss design ideas.
  • Create art to deploy for digital screen, motion and social media.
  • Creative Suite (Cloud) to generate and edit finished products and ensure that all design work follows colleges branding standards.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Box Office Assistant/Usher

  • Sell tickets at Box Office window or phone.
  • Conduct cash, check, or charge ticket sales transactions.
  • Speak on any performing event based upon printed information provided.
  • Give directions to other campus locations.
  • Usher performances as needed.
  • Assist other PAC staff members as necessary.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Ushers

  • Greet patrons.
  • Take tickets.
  • Assist guests with finding seats.
  • Hand out the programs.
  • Accommodate accessibility needs.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Theater Assistant

  • Organize, run and maintain the theatre library.
  • Complete various other office related duties.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Costume Shop Assistant

  • Help with costume construction, organization, maintenance, and storage.
  • Perform physical labor.
  • Assist with clerical work.
  • Sew or willing to learn and follow directions.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

  • Must be enrolled in 6 credit hours at ICC during the semester of employment for fall or spring or enrolled in 3 credit hours for summer employment.
  • Possess excellent level of responsibility, reliability, punctuality and professionalism.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.

Preferred Qualifications

Currently enrolled in related courses.
