Responsibilities
- Oversee the launch and day-to-day operations of up to six dispensaries, ensuring they operate in full compliance with local, state, and federal laws
- Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs, internal processes, and compliance training tailored to the cannabis retail environment
- Oversee the financial aspects of retail operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management to ensure profitability and identify areas for cost reduction
- Conduct regular internal audits, develop corrective action plans, and prepare for inspections and regulatory reviews
- Manage inventory practices across all locations, utilizing seed-to-sale software programs (BioTrack, METRC, etc) to ensure accurate tracking and reporting
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and local agencies, negotiating contracts that benefit the organization
- Work closely with the purchasing and marketing departments to implement successful promotions and other marketing initiatives that drive foot traffic and increase sales
- Collaborate with senior management to align retail operations with corporate strategies, optimizing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Recruit, train, and lead retail management teams, fostering a culture of excellence and compliance
- Oversee the creation and continuous improvement of training programs for all retail staff, focusing on compliance, sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer service
- Establish and monitor performance metrics for retail operations, including sales targets, operational costs, and customer engagement
- Conduct regular performance reviews of retail operations management staff, providing feedback and developmental support to foster a high-performing team
- Keep abreast of market trends, competitor strategies, and regulatory changes, adapting business strategies accordingly
- Work closely with other directors and senior leaders to roll out company-wide and improve overall business practices
