Job Summary

The primary function of this position is to record, analyze and report utilities related data, advise Facilities Services leadership and campus partners on operational improvements and strategic budgeting related to utilities data analyzed and assist in the business and service operations of the Office of Energy Management.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: work order review; preparing monthly cost reports; entering and paying invoices; contract management; provide worker training on new policies; software and technology training; participate in hiring students, grad assistants and or interns; recording OEM staff time cards; recording employee attendance cards; monitoring employee leave usage; recording employee performance evaluations.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$22.18 - $25.64 per hour

Required Qualifications

A. Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, business administration, management, or a closely related field. (transcript required)
OR
B. Three (3) years (36 months) of full time (or part-time equivalent) work experience in accounting, business administration, fiscal management, or closely related experience.
OR
C. A combination of such education and/or work experience totaling three (3) years (36 months), as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
  • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
  • 60 semester hours or an Associate’s Degree equals eighteen months (18 months)
  • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)


Preferred Qualifications

1. Demonstrate proficiency in various computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
2. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and prepare dashboards, summaries, financial reports, statements, and projections.
3. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others, strong oral and written communication, and problem-solving skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as work as part of a team and exercise judgment.
6. Demonstrated ability to apply basic accounting techniques.
7. Demonstrated ability to work in complex environment and multi-task.
8. Demonstrated knowledge of professional office management principles, practices, methods, and techniques.
9. Demonstrated ability to handle stress of environment and multiple priorities.
10.Demonstrate ability to make quick, well-informed decisions.

Work Hours

Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
2. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
3. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score.
