Essential Functions

20% Serves as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Administrator.

20% Serves as the Senior Advisor for DEI for the Department of Corrections.

15% Serves as a full-line supervisor.

10% Directs, coordinates, and reviews the activities of personnel performing empirical studies to evaluate the use of key indicators for DOC operations performance which includes the specification of measurement methods.

10% Coordinates project responsibility among the Division's management staff to define key indicators of performance.

10% Provides leadership and strategic direction on the equity priorities for DEI, including equity and inclusion efforts, both internal and external.

5% Assists senior management staff involved in data collection and applications, with the interpretation and application of key performance indicators analyses, which include writing and presenting reports on field development, implementation, and outcomes.

5% Reviews and remains attentive to scientific literature and developments in other states regarding the measurement and application of performance and equity indicators.

5% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to successful completion of four (4) years of college with
course work in public or business administration.
2. Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in public or private organization, including
experience in strategic planning, diversity, equity, and inclusion work.
3. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4. Requires thorough awareness of policy priorities and objectives.
5. Requires skill and training in technical aspects of report writing.
6. Requires familiarity with data system design and capabilities, and statistical research.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Prefers at least six (6) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in public or private organization,
including experience in strategic planning, diversity, equity, and inclusion work.
2. Prefers at least four (4) years of professional work experience developing and implementing programming for internal
stakeholders focused on diversity, equity and inclusion programming, initiatives, and training.
3. Prefers knowledge of Title VII (EEOC) laws as well as Affirmative Action (OFCCP) regulations and four (4) years of
experience leveraging that knowledge to build an engaged diverse workforce and inclusive environment.
4. Prefers at least four (4) years of professional work experience collecting and analyzing data related to Diversity, Equity and
Inclusion efforts, and using the insights to drive strategy and decision-making.
5. Prefers at least four (4) years of professional experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Employment Conditions

1. Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
2. Requires regular attendance and/or participation in continued learning, staying up-to-date on DEI best practices.
3. Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
4. Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is
prohibited.
