This is a remote work position, but candidate may choose to work at ICJIA’s downtown Chicago office during the agency’s regular business hours Monday thru Friday (8:30 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.) pending availability.
This is a full-time position. The selected candidate must work 37.5 hours per week. The selected candidate will start as soon as possible.

We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to serve as the project director for ICJIA’s Domestic Violence Fatality Review Committee. The candidate will use their strong project management, communication, and organizational skills to foster relationships with domestic violence fatality review stakeholders, coordinate training and technical assistance, and work collaboratively to identify recommendations for reducing domestic violence, related fatalities, and near-fatalities. Other tasks will include preparing reports and documents, planning and attending meetings, and maintaining the initiative’s secure storage site.

This position is TEMPORARY and does NOT include state benefits.
1. Foster and maintain relationships with Domestic Violence Fatality Review Committee (DVFRC), regional review team, and prospective members.
2. Plan DVFRC meetings, attend DVFRC and regional review team meetings, and, as necessary, participate in domestic violence fatality reviews.
3. Coordinate training and technical assistance for DVFRC and regional review team members.
4. Prepare DVFRC reports and related documents, such as training materials, guides, and model policies, for regional review teams.
5. Educate various stakeholders about the initiative, fatality review, and the process for establishing regional review teams in local jurisdictions.
6. Monitor DVFRC and regional review team compliance with training and other standards established by the DVFR Act, State of Illinois, or ICJIA.
7. Provide content for the DVFRC website and maintain the DVFR’s secure storage site.
8. Work collaboratively with DVFRC and regional review team members to identify recommendations for legislative, systemic, policy, and other change to reduce domestic violence and related fatalities and near-fatalities.
9. Recommend and support collection and analysis of data related to domestic violence fatality review.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned.
1. At least 3 years of experience working on projects that involved coordinating multiple teams.
2. At least 3 years of experience creating and implementing training or educational materials.
3. At least 3 years of experience managing a project or program that involved time sensitive and fixed deadlines.
4. Strong communication skills equivalent to delivering 3 or more presentations to professional or lay audiences, such as community-based organizations, government agencies, and criminal justice practitioners.
5. Strong writing skills equivalent to drafting or assisting in drafting 2 or more reports or articles for professional or lay audiences, such as community-based organizations, government agencies, and criminal justice practitioners.
6. At least 1 year of experience working with sensitive populations, such as domestic violence or gender-based violence victims, immigrants, and similar groups.

ICJIA responds to community needs with research and federal and state grants administration. ICJIA administers over 100 million dollars in grants, including the R3 (restore, reinvest, renew) grants (funded through the tax on legalized cannabis), state violence prevention grants, and federal grants including under the Violence Against Women Act and the Victims of Crime Act. ICJIA convenes groups and collaborates on efforts to reform the criminal justice system. ICJIA leads criminal justice reform efforts by supporting policy makers through research.
