Test Engineer f or Superconducting Electronics (Entry Level) Is it you we’re looking for? Imec USA’ s Florida-based R&D Center d evelops new sustainable technologies addressing the growing energy needs of data centers, AI , and high-performance computing. Superconducting digital technology is one of the potential new solutions to deliver data center-scale compute power at 100x better energy efficiency in small-volume systems. Leveraging imec core expertise in semiconductor scaling, heterogeneous integration, and system development, imec is pioneer ing superconducting solution s for decentralized, autonomous AI systems , enabl ing revolutionary AI architectures with unique capabilities. We are seeking a motivated and talented early-career test engineer for superconducting circuits. Th is position offers you a unique opportunity to work with a full-stack cross-site development team integrated across Kissimmee, Florida, and Leuven, Belgium. We are working on all aspects of this new digital technology, from developing a new superconducting process using state-of-the-art 300mm silicon wafer BEOL technology to circuit design , system architecture , and software optimization . Here’s What You’ll Do
Take responsibility for maintaining and updating automated test software drivers and scripts .
Configure test hardware for DC, RF, and digital tests .
Contribute to the measurement and characterization of superconducting electronic devices .
Improve and optimize the existing design and characterization methodologies and procedures.
Collaborate with design and hardware-to-model team leads in solving test and data processing bottlenecks .
Contribute to funded and bilateral projects through their definition and their execution, depending on level of experience and expertise .
Report to colleagues and c ustomers .
Contribute to publications in international journals and conferences.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor ’s degree in Electrical Engineering , Computer Engineering, Physics , or a related discipline .
Experience in device measurement and characterization.
Strong programming skills with experience in Python.
Experience in software control of lab instruments.
Additional Qualifications
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering , Computer Engineering, Physics , or a related discipline.
Experience with database management and hardware-to-model correlation.
Good communication skills for interfacing with internal and external customers.
Ability to take initiative and work independently while being part of a team.
Pragmatic and hands-on , with a can-do attitude.
Experience working in R&D environments.
