The Immaculata University Music Department is committed to developing in its students an understanding and appreciation of the power and place of music in the world by maintaining music as a primary discipline among the liberal arts; by preparing students to use the power of music to teach, to heal, to worship, and to enrich the lives of all people; and by promoting the art of music as a spiritual and cultural force in society. The Music Therapy programs are approved by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) and the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).

Immaculata University invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in the Music Department. Responsibilities include courses both in the undergraduate and graduate levels in Music Theory, Counterpoint, Music Education, and Research with additional Music courses as assigned. Additional instruction in Applied Music lessons assigned based on experience and area of performance. Responsibilities include student advisement and support of the university's mission and vision to scholarship and service through participation in department, university and professional activities. Prospective candidates for Applied Music instruction should prepare two works to perform on their main instrument as a representation of their development as a professional musician. Works chosen should be of standard recital repertoire and demonstrate the candidate's level of proficiency and advanced musicianship.
