Position SummaryThe Clinical Research Coverage/Budget Analyst position will be responsible for reading a clinical trial protocol to conduct a coverage analysis and build a budget for negotiation. The role will address billing compliance and budget-related questions/issues. Essential Functions
Triage incoming protocols for coverage analysis and budget build
Perform detailed coverage analysis for clinical trials based on Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Policy, National Coverage Determinations (NCDs), Local Coverage Determination (LCDs), Drug Compendia, etc.
Develop, review, and negotiate clinical trial budgets
Responds to coverage analysis, billing compliance, and budget-related questions
Act as subject matter expert to select the best method to address billing compliance issues and negotiate budgets
Performs other duties and projects as assigned
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree with 2 years’ experience required
Experience in coverage analysis and budgeting, preferably 2 years in clinical trials oncology
Ability to influence various teams without direct reporting structure
Extremely flexible, highly organized, and able to balance and quickly shift priorities
Project and process management skills demonstrated a track record of accomplishing tasks and delivering results
Detail oriented with organizational skills to cross-check multiple sources of information
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong customer-service orientation, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and with a wide range of clients, individually and in groups
Actively listen and comprehend using critical thinking
Strong employee-relations skills; must be approachable and able to earn trust and credibility with client groups
Able to deal effectively with conflict and manage difficult employee relations situations
Ambitious and driven with a keen interest in improving processes and development -both as a team and personally
Proven ability to handle extremely confidential information
Working Environment / Physical Environment
This position works on site 5 days a week
This position works at a computer for extended periods of time
This position requires flexible hours, with occasional evening and weekend hours
This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity award. The annual base pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, prior experience as well as geographic location. $65,000 (entry-level qualifications) to $88,000 (highly experienced) annually The application window is anticipated to close on 60 days from when it is posted or sooner if the position is filled or closed.
