Brief Job Summary: Delivery driver’s responsibilities include transporting goods from one place to another by driving a delivery vehicle. To work as a Delivery driver, one must possess a clean driving record and DOT medical card. The Delivery driver is responsible for the safety and timely delivery of items, and must be careful and diligent. Drivers should enjoy working with people, have good customer-service skills, be patient and courteous. You are responsible for your conduct and should work in a manner consistent with the company mission, values, code of ethics policies, and other standards of conduct. Remember you are the face of the company.

Job Functions:

• Follow local, state and federal laws.
• Provide information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
• Observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources.
• Ensure that items are properly stacked and secured inside the delivery vehicle
• Take delivery instructions from supervisors, including special and corrected orders at the end of the shift
• Safely follow planned Delivery for delivery, Ensure that the delivery schedule is followed
• Maintain proper knowledge of loaded items
• Ensure that appropriate and complete documentation is available at the time of loading
• Confirm and log truck’s temperature prior to loading; check truck’s temperature throughout the day. Notify supervisor is temp is changing outside of acceptable range.
• Load and unload items from the vehicle in a safe manner
• Place product in the area where the customer instructs
• Treat all customers with respect (internal and external)
• Ensure that delivery receipts are signed. Collect payments for deliveries made
• Return with empty buckets and crates. Place buckets and crates in the proper warehouse location.
• Handle invoice discrepancies, complete credit memos, inform superiors of problems & complaints
• Fuel vehicle at the Hogan location; Turn in fuel receipts and complete end of day paperwork.
• Complete Company provided log books or e-logs properly.
• Review previous day’s post trip inspection to ensure any safety issues were corrected.
• Complete pre and post trip inspections documents. Take care of any safety issue prior to departing
• Check vehicle fluids on a regular basis
• Clean inside of vehicle
• Follow delivery schedule and use the most efficient Delivery possible.
• May help with on-the-job training for new employees
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

• Must possess ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals as well as the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Must be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Apply good sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to learn and operate a handheld device.
• Follow safety guidelines, rules and policy - use good judgement.
• Operate handheld computer and printer.
• Utilize two-wheeler, hand pallet jack, tailgate lift.
• Utilize Defensive Driving Techniques.
• Must meet the Federal Department of Transportation eligibility requirements and possess a valid Class B CDL driver's license and corresponding DOT medical certification as a condition of employment for this position
• Employee must meet driving record requirements (checked via MVR).
