Our client, a manufacturer in the Grand Haven, MI area is looking for a skilled Project Engineer to join their product development team. This role is centered on product development, engineering changes, and product launches, without a focus on manufacturing engineering or operations. The ideal candidate will lead key initiatives, work on 'road map' projects, and interact with customers and supply chain vendors. This role is perfect for someone with a leadership personality and product development experience.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and drive key projects within the company.
• Create technical and logistical solutions to bring products to market in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Manage product testing and quality documentation within product development.
• Collaborate with other operational units based on project scope, participating in continuous improvement efforts.
• Supervise and review work of team members involved in assigned projects.
• Make informed decisions based on project complexity and company impact.
• Clarify and coordinate engineering questions with customers, other operational units, and suppliers.
• Train team members in company processes or ensure training completion.
• Present new strategies to create value for the team and company.
• Identify potential risks and hazards of products under responsibility.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in product development and design
• Some supervisory experience is beneficial but not required.
• CAD design experience
• Project engineering/project management experience
• Preferably an engineering degree, but flexible
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
