SUMMARY

The Regulatory and Compliance Coordinator ensures that all Regulatory requirements are being met. Acting in a liaison role between the QA Manager and plant personnel, this hands-on role serves as the day-to-day practitioner and executer of quality and plant documents. This position ensures that all documents are completed accurately, and regulatory requirements are being met. Must be a decisive trouble-shooter capable of making data-driven decisions as warranted and a self-starter.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under general guidance from the QA Manager, actively monitors regulatory requirements (CURRENT AND NEW), raw ingredients and finished goods for compliance with quality and food safety policies including regulatory compliance, HACCP, GMP’s and SQF.
• Oversees and/or takes part in a variety of internal and 3rd party audits to ensure maintaining certifications. Ingredients finished products and packaging comply with order specifications, quality/food safety polices, HACCP, GMP’s and SQF compliance.
• Backs up QA Supervisor in their absence.
• Backs up QA Manager in their absence.
• Professionally and effectively communicates and collaborates with internal departments as warranted for compliance needs.
• Performs micro swabbing, maintains 3rd party calibrations.
• Keeps all documentation, programs and procedures current and audit ready.
• Other assigned QA related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Science related bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a quality or regulatory compliance environment.
• Knowledge/experience with HAACP, GMP, Food Defense and SQF requirements.
• Strong employee relations, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem solving, planning and process skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite, especially Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in a food manufacturing environment or similar industry preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge and experience using an ERP system is a plus. Ability to learn other application software essential to performing job tasks.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
