The Teacher is tasked with applying the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and evidence-based teaching methods to effectively manage the classroom, fostering an ideal learning environment for all students under their care. They oversee the Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), lessons, and data tracking essential for delivering high-quality ABA services to Impact students. Daily communication with parents and close collaboration with the Curriculum Specialist, School Director, BCBA, and other school staff are crucial to ensuring student achievement. Teachers actively engage in training sessions (both in-house and in the community) and implement acquired knowledge in the classroom setting.

Exempt (Salaried)/Instructional
Hours:
  • 210 days/year
  • School Year Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30-3:30 (30 minute lunch) during school year
  • Summer Office Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:30-3:30 (30 minute lunch) as needed during Summer (6 weeks)
  • May include occasional evenings and weekends as needed for school and marketing events
  • Additional hours available to substitute as technician in clinic during non-school days if desired.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)
  • Create personalized Education Plans (IEPs) for students in the caseload.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee direct instruction for each student on caseload and update lessons weekly in alignment with the program’s curricula and the students’ IEP goals
  • Identify positive reinforcements tailored to each student in the caseload.
  • Collect and graph data on student progress on a daily basis
  • Compose and share daily communication reports with parents.
  • Regularly update parents on student progress and address concerns through quarterly in-person meetings.
  • Ensure organization of the classroom environment and student materials
  • Prioritize student safety at all times.
  • Train and oversee Instructors assigned to classroom(s)
  • Foster constructive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Submit all necessary documentation, including attendance records, IEPs, lesson progress charts, behavior plans, lesson plans, and progress reports, to the supervisor within the deadlines set by the School Director.
  • Consult with Curriculum Specialist, School Director, and BCBA regarding parent concerns and difficult students
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers as needed
  • Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings
Requirements
Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in special education, psychology, or related field
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in teaching special needs children required
  • RBT certification is a plus
  • Previous ABA experience preferred
