Report to:
Senior Director of Finance
Location: This position is part time with a flexible schedule and can be done remotely. Estimated 20hrs a week.

Compensation and Benefits:
$23-$25/hr. This position is not eligible for benefits.

Who We Are

This position will support accounting, payroll, and financial reporting critical to the successful operations of Impact Public Schools. Impact Public Schools has a high degree of financial complexity, as it operates multiple entities and reports to the state, its authorizer, and funders. This position reports to the Senior Director of Finance and works closely with school leaders and members of the home office team.


Essential Functions of Impact’s Associate of Finance and Accounting


Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable
  • Gather all accounts payable information, accurately code invoices, ensure approvals are properly secured and stored, and ensure that vendors are paid correctly.
  • Record monthly apportionment for each school.
  • Partner with the Director of Finance to ensure that Impact Public Schools collects all accounts receivable in full each month and follows up on funds that are not received.
  • Prepare monthly intercompany invoices and reconcile the credit card statement.

Payroll & Benefits
  • Accurately manage and reconcile benefit collections/payments.
  • Accurately manage retirement collections, reporting, and payments.
  • Support preparation of payroll every month in collaboration with the Finance team.

Compliance & Insurance
  • Conduct AR/AP management with an eye towards ensuring that Impact is in compliance with its fiscal policies, all requirements of law, requirements of its authorizer, and requirements of funders.

Financial Reporting
  • Support preparation of, and in some cases prepare, monthly reports necessary for the board, state funding, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare time and effort logs and ensure other related backup documents are stored and completed.

Audits
  • Support audit process, working with accounting firm, state auditor’s office, and others.


Education, Experience and Eligibility:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Financial management experience preferred
  • Previous start-up experience and/or experience in a high-performing school a plus
  • Prior to the start date of employment all employees need to obtain clearance on a criminal justice fingerprint and background check.
  • Prior to being made an offer, the hiring manager will ask candidates to complete a character and fitness form from the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.”
