Cloud Security Engineer
Summary:
Cloud Security Engineer – This position is primarily focused on the technical execution of the cloud security program direction established by security and cloud leadership. A cloud security engineer is responsible for advising, implementing, and maintaining cloud security and private datacenters to protect an organization's computer systems and data from unauthorized access, theft, and other malicious activities. They work closely with other members of the IT infrastructure team, audit and compliance, business and application development teams across the organization. The goal is to identify potential security risks,threats and vulnerabilities, develop cloud security protocols and procedures, and implement and monitor security tools and technologies throughout the organization. They also ensure compliance with security policies and regulations, and regularly conduct security audits and risk assessments to identify potential security weaknesses.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise and Direct secure cloud-based architecture implementations ensuring alignment with their specific security requirements
Conduct in-depth security assessments and audits of cloud environments
Recommend and Implement tools for posture improvement
Develop, maintain, and enforce cloud security policies and procedures, incorporating industry best practices and compliance standards
Integrate advanced security technologies into cloud infrastructures, encryption and security information and event management (SIEM)
Lead incident response and forensic analysis activities within cloud environments
Identify and define system cloud security requirements, on prem datacenter environments and network requirements
Design computer cloud security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs with experience in containerization
Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols in PCI regulated environment.
Architect and risk assess security cloud designs
Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable security tasks. Define and implement policy and business continuity and regulatory improvements
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent level of professional experience
A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in cloud security and security operations, with proven ability to troubleshoot complex security issues in cloud environments
Experience with SIEM, Endpoint Protection, Palo Alto solutions, AWS, Azure and PCI
One of the following certifications is required:
CISSP
CISM
CCSP
Or equivalent security professional certification
Desired Skills:
Application and API pentesting with Burpsuite and other tools
Strong understanding of Security Framework requirements and regulations
Expert-level proficiency in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, substantiated by current associate, specialty, or professional cloud platform certifications.
Excellent problem-solving skills with strong communication and leadership collaboration skills
