Overview
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for ensuring that our facility is accurately stocked in a timely fashion with all appropriate needs to allow for uninterrupted manufacturing.
Responsibilities
1. Supplier management: Assist with identifying and evaluating suitable suppliers. Maintain regular contact with long-term suppliers to bolster the relationship. Assist in evaluating supplies to ensure they meet company standards and pricing requirements.
2. Material planning: Follow established purchasing plan according to company production plan and requirements. Follow up with suppliers to make sure raw materials are provided on time.
3. Purchase price negotiation: Work with suppliers to find cost savings and identify/qualify for promotion opportunities.
4. Purchase order (PO) management: Follow-up on purchase orders, including order confirmation and PO progress. Follow up and coordinate delivery times.
5. Material management: Assist in the management of product stock, by helping to provide cycle counts and coordinating scrap and scrap disposal.
6. Quality management: Monitor delivered materials to ensure they meet company standards and requirements.
7. Supply chain coordination: Coordinate product logistics, as needed.
8. Cost control: Find ways to control purchasing costs on raw materials, product price, transportation cost, duties, taxes, and setup costs.
9. Data analysis and reporting: Pull regular and ad-hoc reports for management including purchasing and supply chain data.
10. Complete any other tasks as assigned by management.
Required Education/Experience
· Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year university in business, supply chain management, or other related degree/programs
· Fluency in English. Bi-lingual in Chinese (Mandarin) language helpful.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Quality management, and Cost Control responsibilities.
· PV solar industry experience preferred.
· Understanding and knowledge of Texas sales and use tax exemption and W-9 forms required.

· Acceptable level of proficiency in communication to collaborate effectively with coworkers and vendors.
· Capacity to quickly learn required skills, such as basic office equipment and selected company software programs.
· Ability to comprehend and interpret complex figures and text.
· Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse clientele.
· Ability to work independently without supervision.
· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
