JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Sales Manager(s), the Automotive Sales Consultant will be responsible for building professional relationships with customers through vehicle sales. The Sales Consultant must maintain current knowledge and training of the dealership’s vehicles makes and models. Strong interpersonal skills and prior sales experience are a must for this dynamic role. Be ready to greet guests on the showroom floor, answer questions, and coordinate test drives. As an ambassador to the Company, they will be professional, approachable, honest, and have strong in-person presentational skills. The individual must be self-motivated, have a strong work ethic, and driven by success.

Automotive Sales Representative Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers entering the showroom floor to present a professional environment that supports automotive sales
  • Answer questions about new cars, used cars, vehicle performance, applications processes and consult the sales manager as needed
  • Employ strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport when assisting potential customers with their vehicle selections
  • Maintain an up-to-date customer database to drive current and future automotive sales
  • Present used and new cars through test drives, demonstrations, and dealership walk-throughs
  • Leverage negotiation skills without compromising customer satisfaction to carry out the sales process following dealership standards and policies

Automotive Sales Representative Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Prior sales experience in a dealership or showroom setting a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, negotiation skills, time management, and interpersonal skills are all crucial for meeting customer needs.
  • Proficient at operating a personal computer including Microsoft Office: E-mail, Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of VIN Solutions or another CRM Application is an asset.
