In Motion Foot and Ankle is Hiring a Medical Office Assistant Near Houston, TX

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our busy practice. The ideal candidate is passionate about healthcare, self-motivated, professional, and responsible, possesses a background in medical terminology and coding, and can provide administrative and patient support. The ideal candidate has a confident, calm, and pleasant demeanor, able to deal with any tasks and/or issues that may come up.

Duties (include but not limited to):

- Greet patients, answer phone calls, and respond to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Perform various administrative tasks, order supplies, maintain tidy workspace, schedule appointments, prepare medical records, and handle correspondence
- Understand insurances and handle payments

Experience:

- Previous experience in a medical office setting REQUIRED
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding principles preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs) REQUIRED
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proven ability to work well with patients, doctors and staff

Skills:

- Familiarity with medical coding and billing, ICD-10 and CPT.
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Technologically savvy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.

- Spanish a PLUS

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No nights
  • No weekends

Experience:

  • Medical office experience: 1 year (Required)
  • EMR systems: 1 year (Required)
  • Administrative experience: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Houston, TX 77065 (Required)
