Position Overview:

As the Managing Editor at Indagare, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Content team (Editorial and Content Marketing) and ensuring the smooth operation of our creative projects and editorial endeavors. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and excellence within the team while aligning our editorial efforts with company strategic and financial goals.

You will report to the COO. This is a fully remote position.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and mentor the Editorial team, supporting each staffer in his/her growth and development.
  • Identify and nurture specific skill-sets to help grow a motivated, loyal and communicative team.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the content team, including task delegation and resource allocation.
  • Manage weekly production schedules and integrated editorial calendars to ensure timely delivery of content.
  • Collaborate with the Editorial Director to develop strategic quarterly editorial plans that align with company objectives.
  • Run weekly content meetings to review progress, address challenges, and ensure alignment with editorial objectives.
  • In partnership with the Editorial Director: contribute to the formulation of Newsletter line-ups, including story ideas, to engage our audience effectively.
  • Manage the production and approval rounds of all editorial Newsletters (including Destinations, Melissa's Travels and Indagare Journeys NLs).
  • Co-management of editorial budget, ensuring efficient resource utilization and adherence to financial targets.
  • Partner with marketing, productions, and trip planning teams to integrate all promotions, campaigns, and partnerships into the editorial calendar.
  • Manage cross-departmental project workflows as they relate to the Editorial team, particularly with marketing and productions teams, to ensure seamless collaboration.

As Needed

  • Editing and revision of some content, including Destination Guide updates and Newsletter contributions, ensuring brand consistency and quality.
  • Top editing of some articles, ensuring they follow brand tone and style guides.
  • Other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability as needed.

What You'll Bring:

  • 5 years of effective and decisive leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, Producer, or similar Creative Management role, with a track record of successfully managing complex creative projects and deliverables.
  • Strong leadership and time management skills, including the ability to develop project plans and manage resources effectively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as ClickUp, Asana, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Background in managing Editorial, Media, or Content teams preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
