Independence Hydrogen is seeking a full-time self-motivated Hydrogen Technician with exceptional attention to detail. Duties of the Hydrogen Technician include maintenance of a gaseous hydrogen production facility and associated compressors, vessels, PLCs, service truck, and equipment. Work environment is Hybrid, to include both working from home and at our plant in Petersburg, VA.

The ideal candidate should have excellent mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial gas systems, turbine engines, pressure vessels, valves, telemetry, and most importantly a safety minded attitude.

If you have previous experience in the military performing duties such as a machinist, electrician, aircraft maintainer, or other related industry experience we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, a successful Hydrogen Technician will ensure all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the production facility is performed in a safe manner.

Responsibilities:

· Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on hydrogen gas equipment safely.

· Maintain maintenance records and spare parts inventories

· Manage day-to-day operations of the facility

· Work within best safety practices and established standard operating procedures.

· Be prepared to respond in an urgent manner to address repair issues.

Requirements:

· High school diploma required, technical degree or military experience preferred

· 3 years mechanical experience, electrical experience a plus

· Valid driver’s license

· Ability to read and interpret drawings and P&IDs

· Previous exposure to compression systems, pressure vessels and piping, and instrumentation maintenance preferred.

· Hydrogen / Industrial Gas / Fuel Cell / Energy / Energy Storage experience a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
