Produce close tolerance machine components using vertical mill (with ProtoTrak), lathe, saw, grinder, squaring up blocks, fixture experience, and fabricating. Parts to be produced are typically various forms of blocks, plates, and shafts, although more complicated forms are sometimes required. Parts will be used in custom manufacturing equipment. Must also make production samples on an as needed basis. After an initial training period, this position will be expected to specify and order material and tools required for completing tasks assigned to him/her with the approval of the engineering manager.
Must have 1 years’ experience on above mentioned machines. Must be able to produce consistent results of tight tolerance parts. Must be able to work unsupervised, prepare material orders, and perform routine maintenance of equipment. Must be able to read engineering drawings.
Performance will be judged by the quality of product according to IHI standards and by ability to work with other IHI employees.
Must own tools (micrometer, multimeter, etc.).
Conversational Programing not required but a plus.
When necessary, this position will be required to drive on errands picking up parts and supplies, needed to keep machines running, to perform emergency maintenance, or complete a tool room job.
Must occasionally lift up to 35 lbs to place raw material on machines. Some raw material will weigh more, however, additional help will be required such as another person on a mechanical crane. Frequency of lifting may anywhere from once a day to once a week.
