Position Summary

Independent Living Systems (ILS) is looking for motivated and talented social media pros to join our social marketing/communications team. As an intern, you will be working closely with a seasoned marketing and communications team who will provide you with real hands-on projects and daily tasks that use social media platforms to promote and manage ILS’ brand image. Independent Livings Systems is dedicated to developing successful leaders, and we strive to make this internship as realistic and informative as possible.

Essential Functions 

1. Create and grow social media presence/profiles.
2. Moderate comments across social media profiles.
3. Utilize social media profiles to campaign events.
4. Maintain, post and, update social media profiles such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Snapchat with appropriate and appealing content.
5. Assist with social media analytics and reporting.
6. Assist in loading/producing stories/creating social media graphics.
7. Help develop strategies for capturing target audience and current customer engagement.
8. Assist with the production of creative briefs and marketing materials that guide the brand development of ILS.
9. Participate in creative reviews and help to provide actionable feedback to the creative team based on an understanding of ILS’ brand strategy and objectives.
10. Create materials and presentations which convey professionalism, brand integrity, and industry-specific knowledge.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications or journalism. Or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in marketing or related field of study. 

Required Skills

• Advanced knowledge of popular social media platforms from a brand perspective.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized, ability to project prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Canva, Illustrator or other graphic creating software.
