### Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Collection Agent to join our team. As a Collection Agent, you will be responsible for contacting businesses to collect outstanding debts. Your primary goal will be to follow up on invoices that have been submitted to ensure timely payments.
### Duties:
- Contact businesses to collect outstanding debts
- Work with Project Managers to submit change order documents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding debt collection
- Provide excellent customer service while handling sensitive financial matters
- Utilize telemarketing techniques to effectively communicate with debtors
- Collaborate with other team members to resolve complex collection issues
- Assist with account reconciliation and ensure accuracy of account information
### Requirements:
- Proven experience in collections, preferably in a medical billing or healthcare setting
- Familiarity with medical terminology and billing processes is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting principles
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy
- Proficiency in basic math calculations and understanding of financial concepts
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- High level of integrity and ethical behavior
