Type: TribalSalary Range: $78,603 to $122,818 / Per Year Open Period: 5/16/2016 to 9/30/2016 Summary: Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation [TCRHCC] is a 73-bed, acute and outpatient regional health system organized as a private nonprofit healthcare organization operating under the Indian Self-Determination Act P.L. 93-638 since September 30, 2002. TCRHCC serves as a large geographic area, primarily encompassing over 6,000 square miles on the western Navajo Nation and adjacent Hopi and other communities. TCRHCC also serves as a regional referral medical center for over 75,000 residents across the Navajo Nation and adjacent communities.
The Assistant Supervisory Clinical Nurse [ASCN] organizes, directs and reviews work processes, administers personnel matters, establishes and maintains staff competencies files with the assistance of the Administrative Assistant. This position assists the Supervisory Clinical Nurse [SCN] provides leadership, direction and technical expertise in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of nursing services in order to maintain continuity of comprehensive care in the Outpatient Department [OPD]. Duties: 1. Assists with planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing staff development, education and performance improvement program for the Outpatient Department. Provides recommendations relative to performance improvement and infection control initiatives. 2. Assists with nursing staff development, education and performance improvement [PI] to comply with accreditation standards and requirements [e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, HIPPA] 3. Assists in the development of annual operating and capital budgets for the departments and ensure fiscal responsibility that includes nursing personnel, Full Time Equivalents [FTE], equipment, supply purchases, travel, training, and other financial management items. 4. Assists with leadership, guidance, professionalism, and evaluation of the nursing paraprofessional staff. Serves a Preceptor for Newly assigned Nursing Staff. Collaborates with the development and implementation of nursing skills assessment and competencies. 5. Responsible for planning work for the clinics that includes completion of work schedules for the Lead Clinical Nurses, adjusting work schedules as needed to meet staffing and patient care needs. Approves leave, recommends promotions, reassignments, performance awards, and disciplinary actions for employees in the absence of the SCN. 6. Maintains and takes action on daily departmental issues and coordinates with all relevant departmental staff, the individual will have the capability to manage difficult employee personnel matters effectively and in a timely manner. 7. Evaluates daily operations and services provided, and works collaboratively with medical staff to assure efficient use of resources, including patient flow, work flow, productivity, and takes appropriate corrective and evaluative action as needed. Identify and implement corrective action plans in liability situations and notifies Risk Manager as needed. 8. Resolves informal complaints of employees and patients and refers those beyond unit level to chain of command. Prepares and conducts employee job performance evaluations responsible to recruit, interview, and hire staff. 9. Develops, collaborates, and implements plans and programs for the improvement or revision of present programs and services to meet the changing needs of the patient population with the Medical Staff. 10. Responsible of the clinical educational coordination with the nursing programs, new nurse graduate program, and medical assistant programs, which will include collaboration with any entities relevant to clinical education for inpatient units. 11. Makes certain training/continuing education is available for staff as appropriate either on-site or external training to improve nursing skills. Ensures communication with staff regarding the hospitals mission, vision, and strategic plans, which promotes a team work environment. 12. Acts in the absence of the SCN attends and participates in management meeting as requested. During times of staff shortage, must perform staff RN duties. 13. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Nursing A valid, current, full and unrestricted Professional Nursing License to practice nursing in any state of the United States of America, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States EXPERIENCE: Two [2] years of nursing experience of which one [1] year must be in the department specific area. 1 year of responsible leadership experience in management or supervisory position.
