Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation, a Joint Commission accredited health center, provides services to a 6,000 square mile area and serves as a referral center for the western part of the Navajo and Hopi Reservations. The unique community of Tuba City offers a culturally rich environment. The Native American tribes located and served here are the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute. This mixture along with Anglo, Hispanic, and African American employees of the hospital and school systems make a pleasantly diverse community. The Clinical Nurse performs a variety of nursing care procedures requiring professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatments, and ability to work independently in completing assignments. Guidelines include physicians orders, standards of care, nursing policies and procedures manuals, hospital policies. Nursing duties include support to individuals of all ages and their families. Duties: Education: Associates or Bachelors Degree in Nursing A valid, current, full and unrestricted Professional Nursing License to practice nursing in any state of the United States of America, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States Experience: Superior performance during clinical experiences as a part of an accredited school/college of nursing as evidenced by references from clinical instructors Qualifications: 1. Develops individualized patient care plans and periodic evaluation of plans to ensure that intended results are being achieved. 2. Interviews patients and family members and consults with attending physicians, other staff members to determine and evaluate the kind of health and physical care needed. 3. Carries out treatments and procedures per scope of practice. 4. Maintains health records by documenting observations, nursing interventions and therapeutic measures administered in an accurate, efficient and timely manner. 5. Participates in orientating new employees. 6. Maintains professional knowledge and proficiency in nursing through continuing education, staff meetings, workshops and serving on nursing committees. 7. Provides counseling and teaching to patients and families or surrogates on preventive, curative and rehabilitative measures involved in health care. 8. Recognize adverse signs and symptoms, which are not always apparent and to react promptly in emergency situations including the implementation of life saving procedures. 9. Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of standards of care, Quality Assurance and Infection Control activities. 10. Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care including equipment and material resources. 11. Participate in the identification of clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities and in performance improvement activities. 12. Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers as appropriate in accordance with licensure standards. 13. Performs phlebotomy, intravenous cannulation, administers IV medications. 14. Floats to other clinics as required. 15. Acts as charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unit when assigned. 16. When assigned as team leader, provides guidance, direction and training to ancillary nursing and other personnel. 17.
