Type: Tribal Salary Range: $67,849 to $106,015 / Per Year Open Period: 7/1/2017 to 7/14/2017 Summary: The Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation [TCRHCC] is a 73-bed, acute and outpatient regional health system organized as a private nonprofit healthcare organization operating under the Indian Self-Determination Act P.L. 93-638 since September 30, 2002. Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation, a Joint Commission accredited health center, provides services to a 6,000 square mile area and serves as a referral center for the western part of the Navajo and Hopi Reservations. The unique community of Tuba City offers a culturally rich environment. The Native American tribes located and served here are the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute. This mixture along with Anglo, Hispanic, and African American employees of the hospital and school systems make a pleasantly diverse community.
The Lead Clinical Nurse in the OPD Women Clinic organizes, directs and reviews work, administers personnel matters, establishes and maintains logistical systems and provides direct patient care. This position provides leadership, direction and technical expertise in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of delivery of nursing services in order to maintain continuity of comprehensive care in the clinic. The incumbent will be assigned to one of the following clinics Pediatric Clinic, Surgical/Ortho Clinic, Women’s Clinic, Same Day Clinic, Internal Medicine Clinic and Family Medicine Clinic Duties: 1. Developing individualized patient care plans and participates in patient care planning which involves the assessment and evaluation of patient needs, periodic evaluation of plans to insure that intended results are being achieved. 2. Interviewing patients and family members consults and coordinates with providers and other members of the health care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans carries out treatments and procedures per scope of practice. Provides counseling and education to patients and families or surrogates on preventive, curative and rehabilitative measures related to their health care needs. Serve as patient advocate by supporting the basic rights, values and beliefs of the patient. 3. Maintaining health records by documenting observations, nursing interventions and therapeutic measures administered in an accurate, efficient and timely manner, in the appropriate format and appropriate forms. 4. Recognizing adverse signs and symptoms, which are not always apparent, and to respond promptly in emergency situations including the implementation of life saving procedures. 5. Participating in the development, implementation and evaluation of standards of care, Quality Assurance and Infection Control activities. Contribute to positive working relationships within the Outpatient Department [OPD] team and other departments in the hospital. 6. Communicates all pertinent clinic issues to the SCN and ASCN of the department or designee on a daily basis. 7. Assists with planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing staff development, education and performance improvement program for the clinic. 8. Assists with and ensures compliance with accreditation standards and accrediting requirements [e.g., The Joint Commission, CMS, and HIPAA]. 9. Assists in maintaining equipment, supply purchases, travel, training, and other first line supervisory issues of the clinic. 10. Assists with leadership, guidance, professionalism, and evaluation to the nursing paraprofessional staff. 11. Responsible for planning work for the clinic that includes completion of work schedules, adjusting work schedules as needed to meet staffing and patient care needs. 12. Evaluates daily operations and services provided, and works collaboratively with medical staff to assure efficient use of resources, including patient flow, work flow, productivity, and takes appropriate corrective and evaluative action as needed. 13. Approves and denies staffs leave, recommends promotions, reassignments, performance awards, and disciplinary actions for employees. Assists in performance appraisals for nursing staff. Resolves informal complaints of employees and refers those beyond unit level to higher management. 14. In collaboration with the medical staff, develops and implements plans and programs for the improvement or revision of present programs and services to meet the changing needs of the patient population. 15. Provides recommendations relative to performance improvement and infection control initiatives. 16. Conducts staff meetings for clinic support personnel to include in-services and training as needed. 17. Submits monthly statistical reports, maintains clinic Quality Assurance standards for all point of care testing and clinic refrigerator temperature logs. 18. Fosters a collaborative environment, using a team approach, in which ideas are shared and valued to promote safe, patient centered care 19. Performs other duties as assigned.
