Job Overview:
We are a private Golf Club and are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team, with immediate availability. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This is a key leadership role that requires strong financial management skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the company's financial operations, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, and financial reporting
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Process bi-weekly payroll for 50 employees.
- Onboarding proper documentation for new hires on ADP.
- Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process to ensure accurate and timely projections
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support for decision-making
- Lead the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices
- General daily financial operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Club environment or similar role, preferably in a managerial capacity
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts, accounting principles, and general ledger reconciliation
- Proficiency in technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting,
- Experience with JONAS Accounting software and ADP is a plus
- Thorough understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Must pass background check and have reliable transportation
