Performs professional work providing operational support and management of the County’s information technology infrastructure. This is a highly skilled position, working under the general direction of the Information Systems and Telecommunications Manager.
- Design, installation, and configuration of information technology enterprise systems
- Administration and sustainment of servers, storage, backup, and network services, including implementation tasks and the provisioning of tier 2 & 3 technical support
- Optimize the performance of information technology systems within an enterprise network environment; including monitoring performance, troubleshooting network issues and/or outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with Network Services and Operations staff
- Administration of vSphere and related VMWare administrative utilities and applications
- Administration and sustainment of an enterprise Windows Active Directory and Azure Active Directory environment (users, computers, servers)
- Administration and sustainment of SAN, CIFS, and iSCSI storage environments
- Administration and sustainment of an enterprise Domain Name System (DNS) environment
- Administration of enterprise backup systems and related components
- Performing updates to server operating systems and applications
- Building and configuring physical servers
- Administration and sustainment of Microsoft Exchange enterprise email systems
- Administration and sustainment of SQL databases
- Maintenance and sustainment of a 911 dispatch system
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field supplemented by (3) three years of related working experience or an equivalent combination of formal education and related working experience. Experience with OS platforms Windows Server, Linux, Virtualization (VMWare & vSphere), Backup Systems, SAN/NAS technologies, SCCM, End Point Protection Systems, MS Exchange, Microsoft SQL desired.
Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations:
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Microsoft Server Certifications desired
- VMWare Certifications desired
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
- Experience with information technology enterprise systems design, installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Experience with administration of servers, storage, backup, and network services, including implementation tasks and the provisioning of tier 2 technical support
- Experience with optimizing the performance of information technology systems including monitoring performance, troubleshooting network issues and/or outages, and scheduling upgrades
- Experience with the administration of vSphere and related VMWare administrative utilities and applications
- Experience with the administration of Windows Active Directory
- Experience with the administration of Network storage appliances
- Experience with the administration of Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
- Knowledge of Enterprise backup systems (Veeam) and related components
- Experience with conducting server migrations, operating systems platform upgrades, and application migrations
- Experience with performing updates to server operating systems and applications
- Experience with building and configuring virtual servers
- Experience with upgrading firmware on network appliances
- Experience with reporting upon the operational status of information technology devices
- Experience with the administration and sustainment of Microsoft Exchange
- Experience with the administration of SQL databases
- Experience with leading information technology implementation projects
- Experience with participating in efforts to define, document, and enforce system standards.
- Knowledge of Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint
- Ability to establish, document, and communicate technology-related standards
- Ability to interface with the different groups and levels throughout the organization.
- Ability to interact with fellow employees tactfully, firmly, and courteously.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
