POSITION SUMMARY
As a Multimedia Specialist, you’ll collaborate with the EdQuantum management team and course content developers to design and develop multimedia content for three courses in quantum technologies. Your work will directly contribute to achieving the goals and objectives of the EdQuantum grant (NSF DUE 2055061).
In this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Course Content Development: Work closely with the team to create the distance learning (online) portion of the course content. Apply the guiding principles of Quality Matters to ensure high-quality educational materials.
  • Multimedia Creation: Develop and implement multimedia elements that enhance the learning experience. This includes screen recordings, audio/video production, 2D/3D images and animation, simulations, and interactive tutorials—all aligned with the course material from textbooks and lab books.

Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of the EdQuantum principal investigator, the multimedia specialist develops multimedia content for three courses in quantum technologies to meet the goals and objectives of the EdQuantum grant (NSF DUE 2055061).
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
  • Assists EdQuantum management team and course content developers in designing and developing the distance learning (online) portion of the course content following guiding principles of Quality Matters and using the software of choice.
  • Collaboratively develops and implements multimedia elements (i.e. screen recordings, audio/video production, 2D/3D images and animation, simulations, or interactive tutorials) fully aligned with the developed course material (textbooks and lab books);
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate degree in digital media, graphic design, web development, instructional technology, educational technology, or related field from an accredited institution, and relevant to the subject of the assigned tasks.
  • Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience in multimedia content development. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia software, or other relevant software.
  • Excellent creative instincts in the development of the product assigned through the project.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work responsibilities.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle diverse situations with varying deadlines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally more than twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as copiers, faxes, calculators, telephones, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
