Indiana Math and Science Academy North
is a K-12 public urban charter school partnered with Concept Schools on the north side of Indianapolis. We believe all adults (parents, teachers, and administrators) should work collaboratively to create a joyful, supportive learning environment that believes in each student's potential. We take care of each other with patience and flexibility.

The Assistant Principal will be very knowledgeable, solution-oriented, and supportive to our school’s leadership team and staff; someone with a profound understanding of school culture, team building, and parent/family relationships. We seek someone who can maintain a good rapport with students and staff.

The APA (grades 7-12) candidates will:

  • Ensure the MTSS process is implemented and effective at the middle school and high school level
  • Monitor grades and lesson plans in PowerSchool weekly
  • Guide teachers on creating effective lesson plans in the PowerSchool and Schoology systems
  • Collaborate with 6-12 teams to ensure a tutoring and enrichment program is in place for students who need to be on track.
  • Engage the families through PTC, weekly newsletters, etc.
  • Identify all components, systems, and resources, including human resources, that impact the middle and high school's effective functioning.
  • Ensure that students are physically in the building and identify attendance as an integral part of education.
  • Take steps to keep high school students on track to graduate and support students lacking credit.
  • Work collaboratively with the director of college and career counseling
  • Be an integral part of increasing the percentage of students receiving a score of 4 or higher on AP exams
  • Support teachers with strong student-centered coaching
  • Have a strong competency with data
  • Work collaboratively with the building and regional administrative teams
  • Create and develop professional development for staff around school priorities

    Requirements:

    • Master’s degree preferred or proven success with Bachelor's degree
    • Must have teaching experience in an urban setting with proven results
    • An administrator license is preferred
    • Experience in coaching and developing teachers
    • Bilingual is preferred
