Indiana University Health is looking for a dynamic, strategic, and results-oriented leader to join our Learning and Development leadership team as the Director – Team Member Development.

The Director – Team Member Development collaborates with key stakeholders to define and execute a robust learning and development strategy that is scalable to all team members and leaders at Indiana University Health. This leader designs and implements programs that accelerate the organization’s growth culture and enables team members and leaders to fulfill the IU Health Way (vision/mission) beginning at day one in new team member orientation, through annual mandatories, and ongoing learning and development programs. The Director – Team Member Development supports the organization’s strategic objective of becoming an industry leader in developing top talent. They lead the charge in designing and delivering effective learning and development programs to empower IU Health’s workforce and meet organizational development objectives – both short and long term.

Additional opportunities include:

  • Building or enhancing as well as implementing core curriculum across the organization from inception to execution that scales all levels of team members and leaders.
  • Overseeing and inspiring cross-functional teams and fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Serving as the driving force behind the assessment, design, delivery, and measurement of training initiatives.
  • Partnering closely with IU Health Leadership and HR partners to identify tailored training solutions that meet the organization’s needs.
  • Embracing diversity in learning styles and seeking innovative and approaches to engage and captivate our diverse population of learners.
  • Keeping a close eye on emerging instructional and technology trends, harnessing the power of blended learning to deliver cutting-edge development opportunities.
  • Championing standardized learning methodologies aligned with IU Health objectives, ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes throughout the organization.
  • Establishing metrics and tracking mechanisms to continually evaluate our learning programs’ effectiveness and using data-driven insights to refine and optimize our offerings.

Relationships

  • Reports to: Vice President – Learning and Development
  • Direct Reports: 1-2 Facilitators and 3-4 Instructional Designers
  • Key Relationships: Director – Leadership Development Programs, Director-Organization Effectiveness, HR Directors (System, Regional, and Center of Excellence), Academic Institutions

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for the position will be selected from a diverse pool and will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

Education, Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Learning and Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience. At least 7 years in Learning and Development leadership roles, preferably in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in instructional design, program management, and technology-driven learning is essential.
  • Experience in leader development programming.
  • Demonstrated experience in introducing innovative learning methodologies and technologies.
