Full time (40 hours per week) at Riley Hospital for children with exposure to all types of patients including behavioral health, eating disorders, acute care patients and pediatric rehab patients. Collaborating and working with other disciplines, nursing, physicians to maximize patient’s social skills, coping skills and activity interests. Willingness to learn, flexible, challenge self in highly complex acute care environment.

Knowledgeable in APIE process, treatment interventions and modalities, and individual and group process.

1:1 TR sessions or group activities for children and adolescents at Riley Hospital for Children. Participate in a multidisciplinary team, document patient sessions, provide goal-oriented treatment.

Excellent teammate, willing to cover where needed. Requires exceptional communication and independent in therapeutic approaches. 2 years’ experience as CTRS, experience with a variety of diagnosis including TBI, SCI, neuro, developmental delays, debilitation, cardiac, cancer, psych and eating disorder is preferred.

Part of a growing TR team and mentorship provided by experienced TR staff.

• Requires certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or a Certified Activities Director (ADC). • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. • Bachelors Degree in Therapeutic Recreation preferred. • Requires 1-3 years of relevant experience. • Requires strong knowledge of Recreation Therapy Standards of Care.
